It's Over - Finally!

Greetings:

Well, the election is finally over.  Rabbi even talked about it tonight.  It seems that 70% of the Jewish voters voted Democrat this year.  That may seem overwhelming but consider that four years ago 78% of the Jewish voters voted Democrat.  (All according to exit polls - nothing actually official.)  Remember, the Jews have not voted (by a plurality) Republican since way before FDR.  As a people, they have voted Democrat ever since FDR.

Why the big (like, 10%) defection this year?  Mostly because of President Obama's position on Israel.  He had to correct some last minute things at the Democratic National Convention so that he openly supported Israel.  Also, he was way too friendly with all of the Arab nations.  Otherwise, the election probably would have gone the other way.  A lot of my, well, Tea Party Jew Friends, were openly Anti-Obama.  Lots and lots of emails to prove it.  Only one of my Jewish friends actually stood up for Obama and it was more of an apology than an outright defense.  Almost all of the Orthodox Jews voted Republican and most of the Conservative.  However, about 90% of the Reformed Jews probably voted Democrat and, by last count, there are more Reformed in the USA than there are the other two combined.

Anyway, now we can all sit back and watch and wait.  Let's see what President Obama will do now that he is in office.  If the far-right-wing radio commentators are correct, he will:

  • openly declare that he is Islamist (OK, Muslim) and always has been
  • forgive Iran for making anything nuclear and welcome them into the Nuclear fold
  • raise income tax on those making more than $250K per year to 60% of the gross income
  • cut taxes on those making less than $25K gross per year to Zero
  • send an auto-refund to those making less than $25K per year so that they ARE making $25K per year
  • raise minimum wage to $15.50 per hour
  • make it a Federal Law that any employee must be paid for 30 hours each week as a full-time employee whether the employee worked that many hours or not subject - to certain conditions
  • make health care free for everyone
  • free health care shall be where pre-existing conditions are not considered
  • abolish all insurance companies as totally-evil organizations
  • health care will be totally funded by the Federal Government with states paying their "fair share"
  • put all doctors on the public payroll, each making less than $500K for any of them
  • accept all of the Latinos in the USA as full-fledged citizens and give them instant citizenship
  • make the military fully 50%+ female including front-line personnel
  • make the military the same percentage Gay as Straight, whether Male or Female, as in the rest of the nation
  • declare that the White Minority is not a "real" Minority but purely imaginary
  • declare that all White Men must pay an additional 5% tax to support Women, Persons of Color and all disadvantaged and handicapped in the USA
  • open the gates of immigration to all from anywhere including North Korea, Red China, Russia, Cuba and any other former Communist nation
  • begin procedures to make India the 52nd state right after Puerto Rico
  • begin procedures to make the UK the 53rd state
  • declare war on Canada and subsume it as the 54th state
  • declare war on Mexico because of the drug trade across the border and subsume the northern Mexican states into the USA, each to become a state within the USA

Well, that's about it for now.  Probably none of those things above will happen.  I certainly hope not.   Take any two (or three) of the above and if they come true, look for Texas to invoke their constitutional rights and secede from the Union.  After all, we have deep water ports, several Air Force, Army, Marine and Naval bases, lots of refineries, lots of oil fields, lots of natural gas, Texas is the #1 timber exporter in the USA, #1 beef exporter, #? mutton exporter, #? pork exporter, we have lots of cotton - corn - peas - okra - melons - tomatoes - and all the other garden goodies, plus lots of citrus fruits.  And if we don't, Mexico sure does.  Shoot!  We might even talk OK, LA, NM, AZ and a couple of other states into joining.   Then we can file for foreign aid from what is left of the USA.

In the meantime, keep those cards and letters coming.  And to mis-quote Prarie Home Companion host, "Thats all the news from Texas where all the kids are above average, the women are strong and the men are good looking."  What a place.

Shalom,
Yaakov

Sandy Obama

Greetings:

OK, this is fairly political.  Hurricane Sandy should be named Hurricane Sandy Obama because she is going to get Obama re-elected.  George W. Bush had 9-11; true, enough, it was a national disaster and not something that he wanted.  I'm sure that Obama did not relish having Hurricane Sandy - but that is what will get him re-elected.

Me?  I don't care.  I don't like either one of them and I'm not voting for either of them.  I have often remarked that I CAN'T vote for the one and I WON'T vote for the other.  So, I won't vote.  My spousal unit is definitely unhappy with me.  She is rabidly for one of them and declares me a traitor to my family and community.  So be it.  I have to go with my faith and conscience.  So, I'm not voting.

Regardless, Hurricane Sandy voted for Obama.  And she carried the day for him.  Say what you will, she will be the deciding factor come next Tuesday.  Obama can't lose now.

Shalom,
jco
